The Save-A-Lot Fuel Your Family Road Trip will make stops in 18 cities, including Atlanta, to spread the word about healthy eating and help others along the way.
On Wednesday, the Road Scholars, ambassadors of the Save-A-Lot Fuel Your Family Road Trip, will present a $2,500 donation to the Atlanta Community Food Bank, plus 55,000 school supplies to Kids In Need, a free school-supply store for area teachers located at the food bank.
Save-A-Lot also is teaming up with the Gwinnett Braves to sponsor a food drive to benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank at Wednesday's Gwinnett Braves minor league baseball game. Fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to donate at the game. Free tickets to the game will be available - while supplies last - at Save-A-Lot's new store, 1901 Metropolitan Parkway S.W.
