A May 7 ribbon cutting will officially mark the opening of the new Sandy Springs City Hall in the City Springs downtown redevelopment.
The ceremony is set for 9 a.m. on the park side of the facility, 1 Galambos Way. A reception and guided tours will follow. City offices are moving from an office park at 7840 Roswell Road, where the police headquarters and municipal court will remain.
The new building will house city management and mayor and City Council offices and the Public Works, Planning and Zoning, Code Enforcement, Finance and Revenue, and Recreation and Parks departments. There also will be meeting spaces and a Studio Theatre where council meetings will take place beginning May 15.
“It took a community to turn the dream of becoming a city into reality, and we are excited to share this milestone with the many who make Sandy Springs home,” Mayor Rusty Paul said.
