The Sandy Springs City Council has accepted as a gift six pieces of "playable art" for the Abernathy Greenway. The gift comes through a $300,000 grant from Northside Hospital.
The six sculptures will serve as visual elements in the city's landscape and are designed as hands-on entertainment for children. The project is a joint effort by the Sandy Springs Conservancy, the Sandy Springs Arts Council and Northside Hospital.
The works are scheduled to be placed this fall to coincide with the opening of the greenway.
