Sandy Springs police seize 67 pounds of meth

April 6, 2013

One man was arrested after Sandy Springs narcotics detectives seized more than 67 pounds of methamphetamine Thursday.

The bust “is the largest seizure of methamphetamine taken in since the (police) department’s inception in 2006,” Chief Ken DeSimone said in Friday’s news release.

Police executed a search warrant at an apartment at the Colonial Grand at Huntcliff off the 8900 block of Roswell Road. Authorities had received a complaint of suspicious items in the apartment during fire sprinkler inspections.

In addition to the meth, police seized 2.4 kilos of cocaine and more than $20,000 in cash.

Police have not released the name of the man who was arrested.
