The Sandy Springs City Council has approved contracts valued at more than $400,000 total to design a sidewalk along Brandon Mill Road and build a sidepath along Johnson Ferry Road and the Glenridge Connector.

NV5/Calyx was awarded a $183,000 contract to design the Brandon Mill Sidewalk Project from Lost Forest to Brandon Ridge drives.

The walk will be six feet wide and 1,765 feet long and have a two-foot landscape buffer, according to a staff report to the council. Project plans also call for retaining walls and a hydrology study including the storm drainage system.

The project will complete a Brandon Mill pedestrian connection from Dalrymple to Abernathy roads, staff said.

Separately, Proterra Development LLC was awarded a $218,832 construction contract for a Johnson Ferry-Glenridge sidepath. Work includes site grading, the sidepath and sidewalk, curbs and gutters, a sidewalk wall, driveways and landscaping, staff said.
