The Sandy Springs City Council has approved a management contract for the City Springs public gathering spaces, anchored by a 1,000-seat Performing Arts Center and opening in late 2017.
Global Spectrum L.P., doing business as Spectra Venue Management, will be responsible for staffing, booking, operating and managing the facility, including working with the city on a booking policy, a budget and the hiring of a general manager.
Global has been a consultant on the downtown redevelopment project since May 2015. City Springs’ public areas also include a studio theater, meeting space and a park.
According to its contract, Global will receive a fixed management fee of $5,000 a month initially, escalating to $8,500 a month through the opening of the facility; 20 percent of the increase over a revenue benchmark; 7.5 percent of food and beverage sales; and a “qualitative fee” of up to $20,000 a year after operations begin, based on customer service scores, evaluations and other factors.
