Former Gov. Roy Barnes and his wife, Marie, will host a book launch event on Friday for a book chronicling the life of former Cobb Commissioner and nine-term state legislator, A.L. Burruss.

The book, “A.L. Burruss: The Life of a Georgia Politicians and a Man to Trust,” was written by Kennesaw State University associate professor Margaret Bennett Walters, and includes recollections by Barnes.

The book launch is an invitation-only event, and will include a booksigning and tour of Barnes’ Marietta home. The Kennesaw State University Press is the book's publisher and is sponsoring the event.
