The Roswell City Council approved a public-private partnership Monday with the local Convention and Visitors Bureau to help launch a commercial venture designed to attract and retain businesses.

The agreement provides $175,000 in start-up funds from the city's hotel-motel tax to help launch the Roswell Business Alliance Initiative for the first six months. It includes provisions for additional funding over the next several years, all to be approved when the Council considers its annual budget each June.
