Roswell is bringing back its Holiday Toy Safe-Play areas where youngsters can try out their new wheeled holiday presents – such as bicycles, scooters and skates – in a protected outdoor environment.

As it’s done for several years, the Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department will set up specially barricaded areas in the parking lots of parks department facilities from Dec. 25 through Jan. 7.

They will be next to the football/multi-use fields at Roswell Area Park, 10495 Woodstock Road; the sprayground at East Roswell Park, 9000 Fouts Road; the playgrounds at Groveway Community Park, 160 Dobbs Drive, and Hembree Park, 850 Hembree Road; and the restrooms and concessions stands at the Waller Park Recreation Center, 250 Oak St.

Families can bring for bikes, scooters, skateboards, remote-controlled vehicles and other toys that require safe, open spaces. Adult supervision is “highly recommended,” as the safe play areas will not be staffed by the city, officials said.
