Several people were taken to the hospital for observation following an early morning house fire Monday in Roswell.

Fire Department spokesman Paul Piccirilli said the blaze broke out around 4:30 a.m. at the home on Pattingham Drive near Warsaw Road. He said the fire started in a downstairs area and caused moderate smoke and fire damage to the home’s interior. The cause is under investigation.

Three adults in the home went to North Fulton Regional Hospital to be checked out for possible smoke inhalation.
