A boy and his grandfather would’ve drowned if it weren’t for Clay Buchweitz.

The two were stuck in a rip current Tuesday nearly 300 yards from the Lido Beach in Sarasota, Florida, until Buchweitz spotted them, WWSB reported.

The Roswell resident helped the boy, 13, swim out of the current and to shore and used his boogie board to keep the grandfather afloat until the lifeguard arrived.

He credited his Eagle Scout skills for the save, but doesn’t consider himself a hero.

“I don’t know if I was really laying my life on the line,” Buchweitz said. “I was just trying to help somebody out.”
