The Roswell City Council has approved a $182,286 contract with Site Engineering for the Norcross Culvert Replacement Project – involving an 80-year-old, hand-built, stone-and-masonry structure under Norcross Street east of Alpharetta Street.

A 48-inch reinforced concrete pipe culvert will replace the existing culvert, according to a staff report to the council. Also, a headwall and two double-wing catch basins will be removed and re-installed, and a storm sewer manhole will be put in upstream.

“Project elements include but are not limited to maintenance of traffic, earthwork, paving, grading, erosion control, sidewalk, curb and gutter, and utility coordination,” staff said.

Site Engineering submitted the lowest of three bids received for the work. Total project budget is $230,286.
