The family of a man and his 10-year-old son shot and wounded in a DeKalb County home invasion is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the assailants, Channel 2 Action News reports.

The 30-year-old father and his son were shot shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday when three gunmen entered a home on the 3400 block of Hyland Drive. The man was shot in the abdomen, and the bullet went through him and struck the child, who was standing behind him.

Both victims, who police did not identify, were hospitalized in stable condition.

Police told Channel 2 that investigators found drugs in the house, and they likely were the reason for the attack.

“Our detectives do believe these three individuals specifically targeted this home, and they do believe they intended to rob and look for drugs at that location,” DeKalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said.

Police said the occupants of the house could face charges in connection with the drugs found there.
