A 15-year-old from northwest Georgia will be charged as an adult in the death of his grandmother, The Daily Citizen in Dalton reported.

Joshua Jaran Johnson was arrested Friday, two days after his grandmother was found dead in her Dalton home, according to the report.

Lorraine Frazier died from ligature strangulation, the Whitefield County coroner told the newspaper.

Johnson will be charged as an adult, but is being held in a youth detention center, a district attorney said. He is expected to make a court appearance this week.
