The southbound lanes of  I-85 were reopened shortly before 7 a.m., about six hours after a wreck involving a couple of tractor-trailers and at least one smaller vehicle closed the interstate in northern Gwinnett County.

The wreck happened around 1 a.m. north of Ga. 20. For several hours, authorities were forced all southbound traffic off the interstate at Hamilton Mill Road.

One of the trucks spilled a load of particle board, and a car trying to avoid that crash was hit by a second truck.

Two people in the car were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Channel 2 Action News reported.

A Channel 2 news crew covering the crash was parked on the left side of the northbound lanes when another vehicle struck their news van from behind. The reporter and photographer were not injured, but the driver of the four-door pickup truck that hit the news van was taken to the hospital.
