The recently renovated Hammond Park in Sandy Springs is now ready for play.

The city spent $78,000 to replace the playground equipment and add mulch to the park, where an annual inspection last year concluded that several wooden supports on gear was unsafe.

The park, at 705 Hammond Dr., also includes a gym, game room, soccer field, basketball courts and tennis courts for activities.
