Human remains were found Thursday along I-20 Westbound near Windsor Street in Atlanta, according to police.

DOT workers cutting grass in the area found the remains, Channel 2 Action News reported.

“I happened to look down and (saw) the bone of a leg, and I happened to look up in there and I (saw) the pelvis and the spine," Clifton Martin, a DOT employee, told Channel 2. "Then I turned around and walked across and that’s when I (saw) the head. I called one of my other co-workers and told them to come down, I just found some skeletal remains.”

The workers then called 911 to report the discovery.

Atlanta police detectives were at the scene Thursday afternoon. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the identification and cause of death.
