A body found in Duluth on May 8  has been identified as the brother of local football legend and Heisman Trophy winner George Rogers,  according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.

Timothy Rogers, 53, disappeared on a March weekend when he was supposed to be rededicating his life to his church, family members told the newspaper.

Rogers, a landscaper and father of two, had long battled drug and alcohol addictions. He was last seen walking home from a relative's house in a neighborhood known as "The Hills."

The Gwinnett Medical Examiners office said the remains were identified as Timothy Rogers based on information in his medical records the office recently received. A cause of death has yet to be determined, but no foul play is suspected, the newspaper reported.

Family broke the news to George Rogers, a Super Bowl champion and two-time Pro Bowler, as he arrived in Gwinnett from Columbia, S.C.,  for the second annual George Rogers Classic Golf tournament.
