Got papers to shred, old cell phones taking up too much space or other junk you need out of the house? The city of Norcross is here to help.

The city’s Neighborhood Clean-up and Recycling Day will provide ways for residents to get rid of items big and small. The April 27 event includes a shredding truck, electronics recycling and collection of any non-hazardous material.

The shredding truck will be parked at Norcross City Hall from 9 a.m. to noon, or until the truck is full. You can recycle old cell phones, computers and other electronics at the Norcross Community Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. All items are free to recycle except for televisions, which require a $20 fee, and CRT(cathode ray tube) monitors, which require a $10 fee. These services are open to all.

Norcross city residents can also get rid of any non-hazardous waste, whether it be an old couch or a bag full of trash, at Norcross Public Works, 345 Lively Ave., from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proof of city residency is required to participate.

For more information, see Norcross' website.
