The Powerball jackpot has topped the quarter-billion-dollar mark after no players matched all six numbers in Wednesday night's drawing.
The jackpot for Saturday night's game is now at $253 million. If a single winner matches all six numbers and he or she chooses the cash option, the payout will be approximately $170.5 million before taxes.
There were two tickets sold in Georgia that matched the first five numbers drawn Wednesday — 3, 7, 11, 15 and 28 — but not the Power Ball, which was 12. Those tickets, purchased in Lawrenceville and Ellenwood, are worth $1 million each.
The jackpot for Friday's Mega Millions drawing is $29 million.
