Powder Springs O.K.s funds for street improvements

The Powder Springs City Council agreed last week to spend $622,343 for street improvements.

Georgia Power Company will receive $162,626 to relocate its utilities because of street improvements at Lewis Road and Atlanta Street.

The city will pay $3,880 to buy property needed for the roundabout on Lewis Road.

E.R. Snell Contractors Inc. will be paid $373,207 to repair and resurface New Macland Road.

An emergency expenditure also was approved to replace failed storm water lines on Quarters Way for $82,630.
