Sandy Springs police identified the pedestrian killed while crossing Roswell Road on Wednesday afternoon as an 18-year-old local man, and said no charges were expected against the driver that hit him.

Jalen Stroud, of South Spalding Lake Drive in north Sandy Springs, was killed after witnesses said he had just put someone on a MARTA bus in the 7100 block of Roswell Road.

Stroud walked in front of the bus apparently to cross Roswell when he was struck by an unidentified motorist traveling north.

The driver of the car stopped and remained at the scene, according to Sandy Springs police spokesman Lt. Steve Rose.

Roswell was shut down from Dalrymple Road, north of the accident scene, to Spalding Drive south of the scene in the 7000 block, as police investigated the accident.
