Police: Man hits, kills pregnant woman with his pickup

A Locust Grove man has been arrested and charged with hitting and killing his pregnant girlfriend with his pickup.

Henry County authorities arrested Brian Feltman, 27, and charged him with murder and feticide. They say he intentionally ran down Megan Pope, 27, just before 6:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Channel 2 Action News.

"He kept yelling she's three months pregnant. She's my girlfriend," neighbor Damien Powers told Channel 2.

Powers was one of the first people to respond to the scene on Golfview Crossing in the Heron Bay subdivision in Locust Grove. "She was in shock and couldn't speak," Powers said of Pope.

Powrs told Channel 2 the couple had an argument and that Feltman had been looking for Pope.

Henry County police said Pope was about four months pregnant had walked away from the home she shared with Feltman.

"Initial statements seemed to indicate that he just come upon her in the roadway and may have led us or initial officers to believe that someone else had struck her," Henry County police Maj. Jason Bolton said about Feltman, who they said denied hitting Pope.

But based on other interviews, physical evidence collected at the scene, police believe his actions were intentional.

Police said a gathering of some sort was being held at the couple's home before the incident, according to Channel 2. Feltman's first court appearance is set for Monday.
