Police in Rockdale County were searching Monday afternoon for the man accused of shooting a store manager during a robbery.

The suspect is accused of robbing the Fred's Store on Sigman Road in the Northside Village Shopping Center around 11:30 a.m. Monday, police said.

The manager was accosted while leaving the store with cash to make a bank deposit, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The suspect fled on foot, and the manager was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive.

It was the second shooting incident within 24 hours in Rockdale. Late Sunday, three people were shot at an apartment complex there.

The suspect, about 20 years old, had 3-inch dreadlocks and stood 5-feet-6-inches to 5-feet-9-inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black Nike sweatshirt with a white Nike swoosh, possible white stripes down sleeves, and white tennis shoes.
