Piedmont Park could get a basketball court

April 27, 2010

Atlanta's Midtown oasis, Piedmont Park, could soon have a basketball court.

The City Council's Community Development/Human Resources committee discussed a proposal from a non-profit Tuesday to build five basketball courts across the city, including one in Piedmont Park.

The organization, the Health Education & Community Center of Atlanta is a sponsor of the annual Hoops Atlanta 3 on 3 basketball tournament each year. The council is scheduled to vote on the proposal at its May 3 meeting.
