A 56-year-old Cumming man was killed late Monday night when the pickup truck he was driving ran off a south Forsyth County road and struck a utility pole.
The crash happened shortly after 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Peachtree Parkway and Laurel Springs Parkway, according to Forsyth sheriff's spokeswoman Karleen Chalker.
Chalker said the 2000 Ford F-150 truck driven by Raymond Holbrook left the road, traveled about 50 feet down the sidewalk, then re-entered the road and traveled another 75 feet before leaving the road again and striking a cement power pole.
Holbrook, who was alone in the vehicle, was trapped in the wreckage and died at the scene.
Chalker said investigators had not determined why the truck ran off the road.
