The Braves open their 2012 home baseball season with a weekend series against the Milwaukee Brewers, and the weather should be spot-on perfect for the return of the boys of summer.
Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton is forecasting sunny, warmer days and dry, cool nights straight through Sunday, with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s.
While the Braves have games at Turner Field on Friday and Saturday nights and on Sunday afternoon, the Hawks play Toronto at 6 p.m. Sunday at Philips Arena.
Weekend road construction projects that could impact traffic around town include repaving that will block a couple of lanes of I-75 southbound from Cleveland Avenue to just north of Forest Parkway, beginning at 9 p.m. Friday and continuing through 9 p.m. Saturday.
In DeKalb County, significant delays are expected on I-285 eastbound, where the three left lanes wil be closed from Peachtree Industrial Boulevard to Buford Highway all weekend.
Meanwhile, in Gwinnett County, authorities will be pacing traffic on I-85 in both directions north of Ga. 20 for bridge work at Ga. 324.
