Dunwoody police arrested a woman and a man on charges of elder exploitation Tuesday after a nine-month investigation.
Susan Abbott Wofford, 55, was charged with four counts of felony elder exploitation, and James Blake Wofford, 57, was charged for two felony counts of elder exploitation, Officer Tim Fecht said.
The investigation showed the misappropriation of funds belonging to a 92-year-old family member of whom Susan Wofford maintained power of attorney, Fecht said. Police and the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office are still trying to determine the total amount of misappropriated funds, Fecht said.
