Drivers who “block the box” at the intersection of Ga. Hwys. 74 and 54 in the heart of Peachtree City will face stricter punishment.

After issuing warnings for several weeks, the police department will now issue citations to drivers going westbound on Ga. Hwy. 54 if they block lanes in the intersection “box” between traffic signals; fines could exceed $150. The program is timed to coincide with increased traffic during holiday shopping season.
