Peachtree City is using its public works crews and an independent contractor to remove dozens of trees that were felled by a microburst on June 24.

The city said Monday that it still has a backlog of more than 100 work orders for damaged trees on city property, and is pulling workers from more routine duties to speed up the cleanup. Fallen trees in greenbelt areas are being left to decay naturally unless they pose a public hazar.

Residents may report downed/damaged trees by sending location information and a photo if possible to info@peachtree-city.org.

Damaged trees on private property may be removed by homeowners without the usually required city permit.
