Peachtree City has awarded design and construction contracts to two companies to build four new bridges.

The City Council voted 5-0 on Nov. 2 for North Georgia Concrete to build the Lake Peachtree Spillway Bridge and for Kiewit to build a bridge connecting the All Children’s Playground to Drake Field, another across Hwy. 54 at MacDuff Parkway, and a replacement bridge at Lake Peachtree. The city will use its own crews to build a land bridge to access the new Lake Peachtree Island park. Funding for all of the bridges will come from Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax revenue, although exact costs won’t be known until the contractors submit design plans.
