It may have seemed like a scene from the wild west early Thursday morning for passengers on MARTA bus route 83.
That's when a man boarded the bus, pulled a handgun and robbed driver Sandra Barker and her six passengers.
MARTA spokesman Lyle Harris told the AJC that the incident happened about 5:45 a.m. on the bus bound for the Oakland City rail station.
"The suspect made threats to the operator and the passengers, who complied with his demands," Harris said. There were no injuries.
Harris described the suspect as a dark-skinned black male between 35 and 40 years old, weighing 180 to 200 pounds with short hair, a "nappy" beard and wearing bi-focal glasses. He was wearing a dark gray hoodie, black pants and black shoes, Harris said.
He asked that anyone with information on the incident call MARTA police at 404-848-4911.
