Gwinnett Medical Center (GMC) is acknowledging Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week by offering free oral cancer screenings.
The hospital system is partnering with the Oral Head and Neck Cancer Advocacy Foundation of Georgia and Ear, Nose and Throat Associates to provide screenings. They are available from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. today during the Gwinnett Relay for Life at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds at 2405 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville.
Oral cancer is the sixth most common form of cancer in the United States with 50,000 cases diagnosed annually.
