One person killed as train collides with truck in Coweta County

One person was killed Friday when a train hit a truck on U.S. Highway 29 in Coweta County, authorities said.

The collision occurred near Walt Sanders Road. A helicopter from Channel 2 Action News showed a box truck ripped apart, and lying on its side near the railroad tracks, wsbtv.com reported.

A helicopter ambulance landed on the scene for the victim, who died shortly after the crash, wsbtv.com reported.
