Two North Paulding High School students were injured, one seriously, in a crash Tuesday morning on Harmony Grove Church Road, authorities said.

The two-car wreck happened about 7:30 a.m. near Paulding County Fire Station 11, sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Ashley Henson said.

The car carrying the students, a 2005 Nissan Sentra, was traveling north, the Georgia State Patrol said, while a 2005 Ford Expedition was heading south. While attempting to negotiate a curve, the Sentra driver lost control, the GSP said. The car went into the southbound lane and struck the Expedition in the driver’s side with its front end.

The male passenger in the Sentra, 16, was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in serious condition, Henson said. The female driver, also 16, was taken to WellStar Paulding Hospital. Her condition was not thought to be as serious as the passenger’s condition.

The Expedition driver, Eddie Thomas, 51, of Acworth, was injured and taken to Kennestone Medical Center, the GSP said.

The accident is still under investigation, the GSP said.
