A “Stuff the Truck” event outside the Alpharetta Library and donation sites around the area have been announced by North Fulton Community Charities for its annual Back to School collection of new backpacks and school supplies for needy children.

A truck will be at the Alpharetta Library, 10 Park Plaza, to accept school supplies and food donations from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27.

Donations of school supplies also will be accepted at the Alpharetta, Milton and East Roswell libraries during their regular hours until Aug. 1; and can be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., July 29-Aug. 2, at the charities’ distribution site, 11275 Elkins Road, Roswell.

Backpacks and supplies will be distributed Aug. 3 to qualified families who registered before the event; they can do so at North Fulton Charities, 11270 Elkins Road, Roswell. Teachers at local Title I schools, who also registered beforehand, can come and shop for their classes Aug. 4.

“We need the help of our neighbors in North Fulton to donate supplies or sponsor a child so that every child in our community can start school with the supplies they need to succeed,” said Eden Purdy, director of programs for North Fulton Charities.
