A female student at North Atlanta High School reported being sexually assaulted by another student during the school day, according to a letter sent to parents Monday.

Principal Howard Taylor’s letter said the Atlanta Police Department is investigating the matter. No criminal charges have been filed and no arrest has been made.

The student said the incident occurred May 8, and she reported it the next day, according to Taylor’s letter.

Taylor said he takes the allegation seriously and will “remain vigilant in ensuring that we provide a safe and secure learning environment for our students.”
