Following a public hearing Monday, The Norcross City Council approved a new tax allocation district in the downtown area surrounding Lillian Webb Park. Known as the City Center East TAD, the tax allocation district will allow Norcross to encourage private investment in key city/downtown development authority owned parcels. It is expected to further enhance and expand the city’s established historic district.

The TAD affects only future taxpayers of a 28-acre, 38-parcel area south of the historic district. Existing taxpayers will not be affected. Funds generated will be used for parking and storm water upgrades among other infrastructure improvements.
