The NorSouth Companies and the Housing Authority of DeKalb County have teamed up on a new apartment complex for senior citizens in north DeKalb.

Crews have broken ground on Hearthside Brookleigh, a $15.7 million complex for residents age 62 and older. The 121 apartments are being built on the Johnson Ferry East public housing project near Ashford Dunwoody and Johnson Ferry roads.

Move-ins for Hearthside Brookleigh are scheduled to begin in early 2012.
