Construction of a roundabout will affect traffic in downtown Kennesaw for two months, the city announced Wednesday.

Starting July 24, Watts Drive will be closed between Little General Clogger Lane and Blackmon Automotive just before the entrance to the community center and Adams Park.

That means traffic from Cobb Parkway won’t have direct access to City Hall. The only way to get to the Revival on Main apartments will be via Main Street.

Speaking of Cobb road projects:

The city suggests using J.O. Stephenson Avenue or Dallas Street when going to City Hall.

This construction is part of the larger, $4.8 million project of widening and improving Watts and Dallas along with parking, a city spokeswoman said. That pricetag also includes the plaza renovation at City Hall.

The city said the work will be funded by the 2016 SPLOST, or Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
