The Gwinnett County Department of Corrections is looking for corrections officers, and they could give job offers on the spot Saturday.

The county’s prison is holding a job fair Saturday, Oct. 13, seeking candidates to fill multiple correctional officer I and correctional officer II positions.

Correctional officer I comes with a starting salary of $32,623 and correctional officer II has a starting salary of $35,232.

Applicants will be screened by human resources officers, assessed by an interview board and given a tour of the facilities. If candidates pass a background check, they could get offered a job the same day they apply, according to a county press release.

Successful candidates must have no felony convictions, no misdemeanor convictions within the past three years and must not be on probation.

The job fair will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Corrections Complex, located at 750 Hi Hope Rd. in Lawrenceville.
