Nearly 2,000 AP awards presented to Gwinnett students

Nearly 2,000 Advanced Placement awards were presented to Gwinnett students for taking classes and exams with college-level rigor.

The students received AP Scholars Awards from the College Board program.

The Gwinnett students are among the top 17 percent of the 1.7 million students worldwide who took AP exams and qualified for awards.

Gwinnett’s AP Scholar Award winners included a freshman at Berkmar High, one of only two ninth graders in Georgia to earn the recognition.

In addition, 109 Gwinnett students qualified for the National AP Scholar Award by earning an average grade of 4 or higher on a five-point scale on all AP exams taken, among other qualifications.
