Napping couple charged with burglary
A sleepy Gainesville couple got a rude awakening after they took time out from burglarizing a house to take a nap, police say.
Hall County sheriff’s deputies responded Wednesday to a report of a burglary in progress in the 2500 block of Miller Drive, in East Hall, said Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks, spokesman for the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
When deputies entered the house, they found a man and woman asleep on a bed in a back bedroom, Wilbanks said. The couple had placed items from the home near the doorway, apparently planning to take the goods with them when they finished their nap. They awoke instead to find police in the house.
Deputies arrested Kenneth Dwayne Lee, 33, and April Lynn Morris, 38, both of Gainesville, and charged them with burglary. Both are being held in the Hall County jail without bond.
