The man accused of gunning down a convenience store clerk during a March 2009 robbery is expected to plead guilty to the crime Tuesday.

Yusef Cantrell faces murder and weapon charges in the death of 24-year-old Harish Roy. Roy was shot during a robbery attempt captured on surveillance video while working at the Stop N Shop convenience store on Lee Street, the Fulton County district attorney's office said.

While awaiting trial, Cantrell was charged with aggravated assault for allegedly stabbing a detention officer at the Fulton County jail, according to Yvette Brown, spokeswoman for the district attorney.

Under the terms of a plea agreement, Cantrell will serve life without parole for the murder plus 20 years for the aggravated assault, Brown said.

The plea is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday.
