Atlanta police are investigating a motorcycle accident that killed a man early Sunday on the city's south side.
Gregory Phillips, 50, died in the accident, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office.
Officers said the victim was found dead at the scene around 1:45 a.m. on southbound Interstate 85 near Cleveland Avenue.
Phillips, who was driving a 2006 Suzuki GSXR1000, is believed to have left the roadway and struck a guardrail. However, police said they did not find any skid marks at the scene or any signs that there was a collision before the cyclist struck the guardrail.
Police believe speed may have played a role in the accident.
