A mother and her two children who were lost overnight in a south Fulton County park have been found safe.

The family was hiking in Cochran Mill Park in Chattahoochee Hills when they got lost late Thursday afternoon.

Channel 2 Action News reported that the 24-year-old woman’s boyfriend called for help after he got separated from the other three during the hike.

“He said somebody told him about some old graves over there, and they were going looking for them,” Chattahoochee Hills police Chief Lewis Harper told Channel 2.

The boyfriend was able to find his way out of the 800-acre park, and a retired firefighter helping in the search later found the mother, her 7-year-old daughter and 10-month-old son.
