Two adults and a second 14-year-old have been arrested after several explosives were found in a Cherokee County home, Canton police said Tuesday night.
Brian Howell, 49, and Sandra Howell, 48, have been charged with six counts of possession and manufacturing a destructive device and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, Canton police Chief Robert Merchant said.
The Howells, of Woodbury Lane, were expected to be booked late Tuesday into the Cherokee County jail, Merchant said.
A child in the home was placed in protective custody Tuesday night, Merchant said.
The arrests came one day after a 14-year-old, who lives in the same home, was arrested after investigators found six explosives in the house, Canton police said.
The teen, whose name was not released because of his age, was charged with manufacturing and the distribution of destructive devices, Assistant Chief Todd Vande Zande previously told the AJC.
"We don't have any indication that there was any attack planned," Vande Zande said Monday night.
Police said Tuesday a second 14-year-old, a friend of the first teen taken into custody, was also arrested. The second teen, whose name was not released, was charged with two counts of manufacturing and the distribution of destructive devices, Merchant said.
The investigation into the explosives continues, and additional arrests are possible, Merchant said.
