July 30, 2010

A 25-year-old Fayetteville woman has been charged with murder after an autopsy revealed her newborn died of methamphetamine intoxication, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Kaisha Lynne Poulson was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of felony murder, two counts of cruelty to children and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a Fayette County jail spokeswoman said. Poulson also faces two drug charges.

Poulson was denied bond at a hearing Thursday.

Fayetteville police received a 911 call on March 7 reporting that a 2-month-old boy was not breathing, Channel 2 reported. The baby was pronounced dead at the scene.

A GBI autopsy and toxicology tests determined the baby died from meth intoxication, according to reports.
