A 12-year-old Marietta boy who went missing Monday night returned home safely on Tuesday morning, Cobb County police said.

Police asked the public for help in locating Alejandro Medina after he failed to return home from a friend's house in Smyrna, where he went after school on Monday night. At about 6:30 p.m. Monday, he talked to his mother on the telephone and she told him to come home. He left the friend's apartment at 7 p.m., but he never arrived at his home.

Police said Medina returned home Tuesday morning and is in "good condition."
