Missing man's car, wallet located
The vehicle and personal belongings of a missing Walton County man have been found, but there's been no sign of the 25-year-old since Sunday, police said Wednesday.
"We still don't have a clue where he is and whether he's still alive or not," Special Agent Jim Fullington, with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, told the AJC.
Charles Parker, of Monroe, was last seen Sunday around 4:30 p.m. in Athens, where he traveled to look at a property for a business deal, according to police. Parker, a Bank of America employee and a University of Georgia graduate, was last in his 2010 black Chrysler 300, Fullington said.
Late Sunday, Parker's wallet was found in the Athens area, Fullington said. And early Wednesday, Parker's car was found by Athens-Clarke County police. A gym bag with some of Parker's clothing and personal was also found, but not in the same place as the wallet, Fullington said.
Investigators towed the vehicle and were checking it Wednesday for any possible clues to the man's disappearance, Maj. R.V. Watts with the Monroe Police Department told the AJC.
Police in Walton and Clarke counties, along with the GBI, are assisting with the search for Parker.
Friends and family members, including Parker's wife Kenisha, held a press conference at noon in front of the Monroe Police Department and planned to distribute flyers in the area.
The missing man's family is cooperating with investigators, Fullington said.
"They just don't have a lot of information," he said.
